The foreigners in Panama have the following rights:

A foreigner who holds a temporary visa or immigrant visa, are entitled to work in Panama, but they need a work permit issued by the Ministry of Labor, allowing him to work within the national territory.

No company or foreign, may engage the services of an alien who has no work permit issued by the Ministry of Labor, under the labor law. Only authorized work permits to foreigners with visas approved for Migration.

Foreigners in Panama enjoy the same civil rights as nationals.

An alien who is physically in the territory for a certain period of time may be considered a resident subject to tax under the laws of Panama. Non-payment of tax by overseas, although not directly affect their immigration status, may cause problems in other legal areas.

There are some types of visas granted to its holder a series of tax incentives provided by the same laws that create them.

Foreign workers in the service of individuals or corporations are subject to mandatory Social Security, except for those foreigners to work in Panama for a period not exceeding two (2) months.

Any foreigner to drive a vehicle in Panama requires a license. Foreigners who are in Panama as tourists for up to 90 days from their date of entry into the country, are exempt from this requirement to be licensed to drive in the country. If the alien is in the country, with some kind of visa and residence in the country for long periods of time, will be licensed to drive within the national territory. You can also validate the country of his origin.

Those men over 60 years and women older than 55 years, having the status of retirees and pensioners living in Panama can enjoy a range of personal benefits provided to seniors.

Panamanian laws do not distinguish between foreign and domestic trade for the year in Panama. The rules of the Code of Commerce of Panama to apply to foreign nationals in relation to acts that carry out business in the country, except for those exceptions that the law states. Under this equality, foreigners may perform any lawful act of commerce in the country. The only restriction in the Act, to foreigners, it refers to the prohibition on exercising the retail trade in the Republic.
